Klarna now supports UCP and the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2). AP2 is the payment layer that UCP is built on. Klarna checks and processes this token without needing the user to approve each purchase.

This process uses payment tokenization to protect user data. Tokenization swaps sensitive payment details for a secure stand-in value. The AI agent never sees raw card numbers. The PCI Security Standards Council sets the rules that keep these automated transactions safe for consumers.
