The AI Policy Summit 2026, a flagship event of the Zurich AI Festival, will take place on September 29th and 30th at the ETH Zurich Main Building in Switzerland, with a global online broadcast available for virtual attendees. Organized by the ETH Zurich Center for Law and Economics and held under the patronage of the Council of Europe.

As AI models evolve from conversational tools into autonomous agents capable of complex tasks, the need for verifiable trust and robust accountability mechanisms has never been more urgent.
On Day 1 of the summit, Dominick Romano will moderate Panel 2: Building Trustworthy Agentic Systems (11:40 AM – 12:30 PM CET). This vital discussion will explore the frameworks necessary to ensure safety and reliability as organizations increasingly deploy agentic AI.

Following their impactful 2025 presentation on “Trustworthy AI by Design – Use Case From Pharma & Biotech,” Dominick Romano will reunite with Michael Schorpp, Head of Digital Innovation & AI for Regulatory Affairs at Boehringer Ingelheim. Together, they will lead an intensive workshop titled: Drafting a Shared Standard of Evidence & Accountability for AI Agents.
This collaborative workshop aims to move beyond theoretical policy, challenging participants to establish concrete, actionable standards for evaluating and governing AI agents, particularly within highly regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
