Drainpipe Selected as Technical Supervisor for Immersive AI Art Experience Marking the 50th Anniversary of Morocco’s Historic Green March

Dakhla, Morocco – November 6, 2025 – Drainpipe, a United States based leader in advanced AI solutions, announced today its role as the technical supervisor for a landmark immersive digital AI art experience led by ISMAC Film Institute under the direction of Hakim Belabbes, part of the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication. The project will be a key attraction of the 50th-anniversary celebration marking the historic Green March. The 50th Anniversary Celebration comes only days after the United Nations Security Council’s vote to back Morocco’s plan for the Sahara.

Set to officially unveil November 6, 2025, this significant initiative focuses on leveraging Drainpipe’s technology and expertise to create an interactive showcase of pivotal historical artifacts that were preserved by the Moroccan Government following the Green March. This immersive digital experience, a first for Morocco and the greater African continent, aims to bring the rich history and cultural heritage of the region to life for both local and global audiences.

The upcoming 50th-anniversary celebration centers on the Green March (Al Massira Al Khadra), a pivotal event in modern Moroccan history. On November 6, 1975, at the call of the late King Hassan II, an estimated 350,000 unarmed Moroccan civilians marched into the territory then under Spanish colonial rule to peacefully assert Morocco’s claim to the region to complete its territorial integrity. The peaceful demonstration is widely celebrated as a defining symbol of national unity, patriotism, and the strength of peaceful resolution.

Morocco is one of the United States’ longest-standing and most important allies, having been the first nation to recognize the newly independent American Republic in 1777. The US-Morocco relationship is formalized by the longest unbroken treaty in US history.

Dominick Romano, Founder and CEO of Drainpipe, emphasized the profound significance of the collaboration. “It is a tremendous honor for Drainpipe to support the Moroccan Government on a project of such national importance, especially one tied to the legacy of the Green March,” said Romano. “This project is a testament to the enduring alliance between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States, our nation’s closest non-NATO ally. By applying our AI technology, we can preserve these invaluable historical artifacts in an interactive, compelling, and deeply personal format, ensuring the stories of the past continue to resonate powerfully with future generations.”

The project reinforces the commitment of both ISMAC Film Institute and Drainpipe to using cutting-edge technology to celebrate and preserve cultural identity. The 50th-anniversary celebration of the Green March has grown into a celebration of national unity. This is further led by King Mohammed VI declaring October 31st as “Aid Al Wahda” (Unity Day). The celebration is anticipated to be a globally recognized event, and the digital experience is expected to be unveiled as part of the formal commemoration ceremonies.
