CANNES, France - Some of the planet’s most brilliant minds will converge at the first ever World Artificial Intelligence Cannes Festival (WAICF) April 14-16, 2022 in Cannes, France. Highly respected tech giants like Hewlett Packard, IBM, JP Morgan, Meta, Microsoft, and Nvidia will be sending some of their top talent to mix with entrepreneurs, decision makers, and key opinion leaders to discuss the future of AI.

The festival’s featured speaker list reads like a who’s who in the AI industry, yet WAICF has chosen Dominick Romano, founder of an up and coming American technology company called Drainpipe.io, to deliver the keynote speech on opening day.

Who is Dominick Romano?

Having roots in a Long Island neighborhood more commonly associated with hip hop culture and athletics than promising tech startups, Romano doesn’t necessarily fit the profile of a preciously nurtured academic. But like many passionate serial entrepreneurs, Romano has experienced his share of impressive victories and devastating heartaches which decidedly inform his unorthodox approach to innovation and contribute to his unwavering grit.

Romano took advantage of the mandated isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic to refocus on his own mission to fix some of the fundamental issues he saw with existing AI technologies. This work resulted in the creation of Drainpipe.io’s AI operating system.

Romano’s keynote talk entitled “Space, Time, and Information” is named as an ode to the mathematicians, scientists, and technologists who contributed to what we know today. The speech will discuss looking at data in new and constructive ways that will lead the way for future innovations in technology and information management, while exploring what that future looks like.
